Nature Festival thank you

Nature Festival thank you

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Ceredigion Nature Festival during Wales Nature Week!

What an incredible day it was! This year’s festival was a massive success, with three times as many stalls than last year, making it our biggest and most vibrant event yet.

Most importantly, none of this would have been possible without our amazing pitch holders. Thank you for giving up your Saturday to join us, share your passion, knowledge and enthusiasm, and create such an inspiring experience for everyone who attended. You were the heart of the festival and such a huge draw for visitors. We simply couldn’t have done it without you.

Unfortunately, on the morning of the festival there were two road closures which meant some people arrived later than planned, while others were sadly unable to attend. Despite these unforeseen disruptions, it was fantastic to see the festival busy throughout the day, with visitors enjoying everything on offer from start to finish.

We were also disappointed that we weren’t able to promote the festival with our planned physical banners and on-site signage. Due to unforeseen issues in the lead- up to the event, this wasn’t something we were able to resolve in time. However, our social media campaign helped spread the word, and we’re excited that next year the Ceredigion Nature Partnership will have its own dedicated social media channels, allowing us to reach even more people and make the festival bigger and better than ever.

I had placed posters at the entrances to the site, but unfortunately these were removed during the night by a young person. We did have security in place, and the guards chased the individual away. However, they were unaware that our signage had been removed and were therefore unable to alert us to the issue.

The feedback we’ve received so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Visitors have told us how much they loved the incredible range of stalls and the diversity of organisations, projects and individuals taking part. It was wonderful to showcase so many different ways people are working to protect and celebrate nature across Ceredigion and beyond.

We’ve also received lots of fantastic feedback from our stall holders, who helped make the event such a success. It’s wonderful to hear that so many of you enjoyed the day as much as our visitors did.

A very special thank you also goes to our fantastic volunteers. We simply could not run the festival without your time, energy and enthusiasm, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything you did on the day.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to the Ceredigion Biodiversity Team, who put in countless early mornings, late nights and an enormous amount of hard work behind the scenes to make this event happen. Your dedication made the festival the success it was.

We’re already planning for next year’s Ceredigion Nature Festival and are looking at how we can build on this year’s success. Our ambition is not only to replicate what we’ve achieved, but to expand it and make it THE nature festival that everyone talks about.

This year we won’t be sending out feedback forms. We found that many people had comments they’d like to share but didn’t want to complete a formal questionnaire. If you have any feedback—whether you’re a visitor, volunteer or stall holder—we’d love to hear from you. Please email us at biodiversity@ceredigion.gov.uk.

We’ll also be putting together a photo montage later this year to celebrate the festival. If you have any photos or videos you’d be happy to share, we’d love to receive them at biodiversity@ceredigion.gov.uk. If your images include close-up photographs of people, particularly children, please let us know that you have the appropriate consent for those images to be used.

Thank you once again to everyone who helped make the Ceredigion Nature Festival such a memorable celebration of nature. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, and we look forward to seeing you again next year for an even bigger and better festival!
