A stakeholder meeting to discuss the possibilities and opportunities for developing a Catchment Partnership for the Teifi (Ceredigion).

The West Wales Nutrient Management Board (WWNMB), working in partnership with the Ceredigion Local Nature Partnership (CLNP), would like to invite the current Teifi Nutrient Management Board stakeholders, along with other interested individuals, groups, organisations and businesses, to come together and discuss the next steps towards establishing a catchment partnership.

The aim is to build on the existing groups, projects and activity across the catchment, bringing together those with an interest in the riverine environment and those living and working within it.

Purpose of the Catchment Partnership

Catchment partnerships form part of a wider move towards locally led, collaborative delivery, linking environmental priorities across sectors and supporting coordinated action at catchment scale.

The aim of the catchment partnership is to bring together the many people and projects currently working for the benefit of the River Teifi and its tributaries and to:

  • Facilitate better networking and collaboration
  • Support a more holistic ‘source to sea’ approach
  • Improve delivery of conservation and nutrient mitigation actions
  • Strengthen links between local delivery and strategic decision-making
  • Identify shared learning and future funding opportunities

Aims of this meeting

The main aims of the meeting are to:

  • Identify the key stakeholders that should be involved going forward
  • Discuss the potential scope and focus of the partnership
  • Begin to shape a roadmap for future development
  • Consider an interim approach to representation
  • Nominate two representatives to attend WWNMB Board meetings during the initial development phase
